The Library uses the Integrated Library Management System (KOHA), an integrated library management system (ILS) with a database (SQL) that handles data stored according to Marc standards and accessible by the Z39.50 protocol, the user interface is highly customizable and adaptable. This system is available in many languages including Arabic; Koha system has all the features that can be found in integrated library management systems. It provides access to the library catalogs at University of Gezira and the libraries of the various Sudanese universities and a number of Arab universities. In addition, there are many specialized agricultural, medical, educational and other databases.
